Small Rocket Project
Every year, we organise the Small Rocket Projects for potential new members, to give them experience with the basics of rocketry. The project is focused on first year Bachelor students of the TU Delft, but anyone who is interested can apply for the project! During the SRP, you will do a full cycle of designing, building and launching a small rocket in a group of 5-6 students, together with an experienced DARE member as mentor. Your goal will be to bring an uncooked egg to an altitude of 1 km, and, equally important, bring it back safely to earth. To do so, you will get several presentations of DARE members on several rocketry topics, including propulsion, stability, electronics, parachute recovery, and many more. For an impression, check the Small Rocket Project Aftermovie of 2016-2017!
- The deadline for applications to the 2018-2019 SRP has now passed.
- Information on the 2019-2020 SRP will be posted at the beginning of the Academic Year 2019-2020.
The application period for 2019-2020 will begin with an interest drink, after which you can apply for the Small Rocket Project. You will be asked to fill in a motivation letter, and if selected for the next phase you will be invited for an interview.
While anyone interested can apply, the SRP is focused on current first year students. Interested applicants who have completed the first year of their studies are encouraged to apply via the general recruitment process.
