Day 6, Dogsleds and snowmobiles

Today we went dogsledding and snow scooter riding. A span of twelve dogs pulls a sled with four persons and a driver. During the sled trip you are immersed in the beautiful nature of northern Sweden. The only sounds you can hear are the breathing of the dogs and the sliding of sled. Although the dogs were smaller than we expected they were also stronger than we thought. A span consists of two dogs up front which can listen to commandos , strong dogs in the back and sometimes a couple of very young dogs in the middle.

After the dogsled it was time for the snow scooters. The amount of traction and power these machines have is immense. These vehicles are really nice toys. The path we took consisted of both a small, very bumpy path on which the brave of us performed jumps and a wide straight road. There are rumors that some of the group tested the speed of these babies on these snow highways.

This evening we were able to send data from the flight computer into the world. We have a working transmitter.
