Recent Events

Recently Stratos and DARE has been present at several events. A few of those are described here.

Precisiebeurs

On the 28th and 29th of November a small delegation consisting of the Head of Operations, Technical Manager and the Head of Public Relations represented Project Stratos on the yearly Precisie Beurs (Precision Fair) in Veldhoven. The precision fair attracts over 3000 visitors and houses over 250 exhibitors, and in cooperation with 3TU (which facilitated the promotional stand) the delegation got into contact with many interesting people from various industries. It has yet to be seen in how far there are potential partnerships in the contacts made, but the team definitely enjoyed the opportunity of getting in touch with different businesses all over the world and is looking forward to participate or visit future technology fairs

Minister of economic affairs

On the 11th of February, the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Henk Kamp, paid a visit to the D:Dreamhall. He walked around and had a talk with each Dream Team. Rob Hermsen, one of the Stratos project managers, was there to represent Stratos along with Martin Olde who represented CanSat and the rest of DARE. The press was also present which will lead to some nice exposure for DARE and the other Dream Teams

Perseus Conference

Last weekend (15 February) DARE attended the Perseus conference in Paris, France. Although the French language remains a challenge for most of us, it was a very interesting weekend. Perseus has a number of interesting projects going on concerning for example a supersonic rocket, a two stage rocket and an air launch system. Michael Eiche was there to represent Stratos II and he even gave a nice presentation about it.

Perseus presentation in English or French? Nice work in any case, looking forward for more updates

    Hello Frank

Most of the Perseus presentations were indeed in French (although with English slides). Fortunately some of our representatives are also very skilled in the French language 😉
